There’s technical, and then there’s the Zoom 4, Nike’s latest project with Matthew M. Williams. Just look at it. It’s out there. Really, really out there. But there are some familiar Swoosh inclusions, including a double helping of Zoom Air in the forefoot. There’s even a nod to old Shox prototypes, with a folded heel that acts almost like a springboard — just like it did on the recent ISPA Road Warrior. The palette is far more refined, though, but it doesn’t tone down the look. The subtle shades across the uppers and chrome accents only serve to enhance the technical aesthetic.
